Inspiring Woman - Amber Harper

I remember the first time meeting Amber...she had just joined the AAU team that I was playing on. Dynamite 87 was our team name...and we walked around looking like little boys, but you didn't want to see us on the court!! LOL!! I remember Amber came to the team with DEFENSE!!!! We both ended up leaving the team, and then randomly ended up at McMurry University together our freshman year. I only stayed at McMurry for a year...but that didn't stop any of the fun that was had! I vividly remember going out one night with Amber and some others, and they all entrusted me to drive us to and from the club without my glasses on. I can PROMISE you that we had the Lord and ALL of our guardian angels in the car with us that night!!!!!! Over the years I have watched Amber be a complete BOSS in everything that she has done...and lately have been sooooo inspired by her courage and determination to start her own business, and completely KILL it!!!!! I am so than...

Inspiring Woman - Jasmine Anderson

I remember meeting Jasmine...I was working for a temp agency at an ADT office. When I met her she was pregnant, and was all belly!!!! I'm pretty sure that's one of the first things I said to her! We instantly struck up a friendship!! We remained friends even after my assignment was over. Over the years, we have not stayed in contact as much, but I have watched her BOSS transformation and been in such awe!!! She was a BOSS when I met her...but like she stated below, when she had her son, she had to recreate herself, and the recreation has been beautiful to watch!!! I am so beyond thankful for Jasmine for wanting to participate, and also for being who she is!! She is truly a BOSS, and an inspiration, and I knew when I came up with this idea, that I had to feature her!!!

I introduce you to the GORGEOUS Jasmine Anderson

*Generally speaking, what was your childhood like?
I grew up with my mom and grandmother, my dad passed away when I was 3yrs old. But life was good I am an 80’s baby and it’s the best generation ever. I was living between Arkansas and Texas until the 7th grade we finally settled in Texas. I had lots of friends. Cheer, dance and volleyball was my thing growing up.

*What have you learned over your lifetime that you’d like to share with the younger generation?
TAKE YOUR TIME!! Spend so much time investing in yourself, explore you and who you are, try every single thing that come to mind that you want to do, take risks (the ones that could come with high rewards) bet on yourself. LIVE, travel, love will come, the career will come but just do you and have so much fun. Make memories.

*What has the journey/process been like for you to get to where you are today?
Definitely not easy, but it has all been worth it. It challenged me to embrace change, be flexible and stay open minded.

*What sacrifices have you had to endure to get to where you are today?
Man. So many. Motherhood came in to play and I had to literally recreate myself and who I was and what I wanted to do once my son was born. It was no longer just about me. No regrets at all though. I had to start over so many times in my career, friendships, love life, everything. While it was very hard to go through it, it was all so necessary for me to be where I am today.

*What do you do for a living?
Global Mobility, Real Estate and My Jewelry Brand, JasJewelz.

*What motivates you the most?
Myself and my son. Being able to give us both better lives keeps me going daily.

*You are a complete BOSS…as a woman, why do you feel like creating this path for yourself was/is necessary?
It’s necessary to keep myself as a priority. Women often get so lost in the careers, kids and families that we put ourselves and our goals/dreams to the side. Well not me. I’m currently doing everything I want and then some, even with my kid. It’s not easy but it’s so important for me not to forget about myself and what makes me happy. Besides the future is female!!!

Have your dreams and goals changed through your life?
Absolutely! I first wanted to be a model, then I went to an agency and got chosen to do just that and while at a photo shoot I realized I wanted to be the girl dressing us for these photos, a fashion stylist. I did that for 10yrs! I then had a clothing boutique and now I have a jewelry brand. So basically, I love fashion but it translates now through my jewelry brand and I also love interior design. Not to mention who knew I’d be in real estate as well. I think goals/dreams changing is always a good thing it means you are learning and expanding, and it’s nothing wrong with wanting to go bigger and bigger and I feel like I’ve done that.

How do you define a “good life” or a “successful life?”
a good life/successful life to me is when you are doing what truly makes you happy. Living your life on your terms.

Do you think a person needs to first overcome serious setbacks or challenges to be truly successful?
Absolutely not. Growing pains is what builds you up, focus on the goals and not the hurdles pushing thru setbacks and still coming out on top is the greatest victory. Nothing worth having comes easy anyway.

Thank you so much to the gorgeous Jasmine Anderson for participating!! Definitely go check out her website below and shop her amazing jewelry collection!! I hope her story inspired you!!
